How often do gold rates update?
Gold and silver rates are fetched and updated automatically every 60 minutes. On the Starter plan and above, product prices in your Shopify store are also updated automatically with each rate change.
Does the app work with any Shopify theme?
Yes! Gold Live Price uses Shopify Theme App Extensions which are compatible with all Online Store 2.0 themes. Simply add the blocks in your Theme Editor β no code editing required.
Can I customise the rate breakup labels?
Yes, on Starter plan and above you can rename every row in the breakup table β making charges, hallmark, certificate, GST, subtotal and grand total can all have custom labels matching your store language.
What currencies are supported?
The app supports INR (βΉ), USD ($), AED (Ψ―.Ψ₯), EUR (β¬) and GBP (Β£) on Starter plan and above. The free plan shows rates in INR only.
How does the AI jewellery chat work?
The AI chat widget (Professional plan) is powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. It answers customer questions about live gold rates, purity, making charges, EMI calculations and jewellery care β automatically, 24/7, without any manual work from you.
Can I try paid features before paying?
Absolutely! All paid plans (Starter, Professional, Enterprise) come with a 7-day free trial. No credit card is needed to start the trial. You can cancel anytime before the trial ends.
How is the jewellery price calculated?
The price is calculated as: (Gold Weight Γ Live Rate Γ Purity Factor) + Diamond Value, then multiplied by (1 + Making%) Γ (1 + Markup%) Γ (1 + GST%). All values are entered per product in the admin dashboard.
What happens if I uninstall the app?
When you uninstall, your subscription is cancelled immediately with no further charges. All data associated with your store is permanently deleted within 48 hours. Your product prices will remain at their last updated values.
Does the app slow down my storefront?
No. Gold Live Price uses Shopify's native Theme App Extensions which are optimised for performance. Rate data is cached and served efficiently. The app has no measurable impact on your Core Web Vitals scores.
Can I use the app for silver jewellery?
Yes! You can set any product's metal type to "silver" and the app will use live silver rates for price calculation and display. The rate ticker shows both gold and silver rates side by side.
